Ancestry: Illegitimate son of King Henry I; Great-grandson of William the Conqueror.

The manor: William inherited the manor from his parents and held it between 1157-83. After William's death his grandson Aumarie held the manor but he died without an heir. William's daughters then became co-heirs to the feudal barony of Gloucester.
