His name: Ælfweard is the original Anglo-Saxon. The modern spelling is Aelfweard.

Title: Aelfweard died 16 days after his father. He may have been King of for 16 days!

Ancestry: Aelfweard was the son of Edward the Elder and half brother of Athelston.

Family: It is possible Aelfweard could married or had a consort and had children, but this is not recorded. This is just my unresearched guess because I cannot find a family history for Aelfweard/Haylward grandfather of Beorhtric/Brictric. Therefore I am guessing that Aelfwaerd and Haylward may be the same person!
