Titles: 6th Earl of Hertford; 5th Earl of Gloucester; 8th Lord of Clare; 8th Lord of Tonbridge; 7th Lord of Cardigan.

The manor: Richard inherited the manor as a minor and had Hubert de Burg and later Peter des Roches then Gilbert, EarlMarshall as his guardians and held it between 1230-62.

His demise: He was possibly poisoned!

Father Gilbert de Clare, 4th Earl of Hertford.
