Henry VIII visited Thornbury with Anne Boleyn. In 1988 a pageant recreated the event. It is a polpular myth that this 'progress' was Henry and Anne's honeymoon. However, research shows that the 'progress' was near the end of their marriage and therefore unlikely to have been a happy event. |
